For over 16 years, 1st Millennium Electronics has proudly sustained and expanded partnerships with over 80 catering manufacturers globally.

This case study tells you about one such longstanding relationship, which revolved around the manufacture, stockholding, and continuous development of PCBs embedded in a diverse variety of industrial catering equipment for this specific customer.

The Challenge:

1st Millennium Electronics was first asked to support this customer in 2007 to help modernise their supply chain processes. At this point the customer had four PCBs and the bills of materials (BoM) could only be supplied on paper. Many of the part numbers listed were no longer available either. 

How it was Addressed:

1st Millennium Electronics undertook the challenge of modernising the process by creating electronic versions of the BoM, some of which totalled to 500 line items, and by sourcing alternative solutions for obsolete parts. This marked the inception of our commitment to this customer's evolving needs and 1st Millennium Electronics has been supplying populated boards and other electrical components and maintaining the BOMs ever since.

The Outcome:

Over the years, our dedication has manifested in the expansion of our role. What began with four PCBs has transformed to 780 line items, showcasing our adaptability and responsiveness to the customer's growing demands. Rigorous and routine cost assessments and component availability checks are integral to our service and have ensured the seamless flow of production.
